How to Enable My Extra RAM Stick?

I recently purchased a pre-built PC, and I just realized that I'm only utilizing 8 GB of RAM instead of the full 16 GB. I've checked the installation and my RAM sticks are seated in the correct slots (2 and 4). I'm really new to this whole PC thing, so please explain it to me like I'm five. Just to note, my motherboard is an Intel B560 and the RAM is 16 GB DDR4 3000MHz (2x8 GB). Any advice on how to get the second stick working?

If reseating the sticks doesn't help, you could also check your BIOS settings. Sometimes, the secondary RAM stick needs to be enabled there. Just restart your PC, and during boot, enter BIOS (usually by pressing Del or F2). Look for a section that shows the current memory. If both sticks are detected, you'll be fine.

First off, make sure your system actually recognizes both RAM sticks. You can check that through Windows Task Manager under the Performance tab. If it’s showing only 8 GB, maybe the second stick isn't seated properly or might be faulty. You might want to try reseating the RAM or even testing each stick individually to see if one is causing the issue.
