I'm looking for advice on using S3 cloud storage for my Veeam backup copy jobs. I didn't see any options for encryption in the backup copy job settings. Is there a way to encrypt these backups, or do I need to configure encryption in the upstream backup job settings instead?

I personally use Azure with Veeam, and while I'm not doing backup copy jobs, the backup jobs to that storage enforce encryption. I’d guess that AWS setup works similarly, so you should be good on that front.
You should find encryption settings in the backup copy job settings under Target > Advanced, then look for the Storage tab. That's where I discovered it. Good luck!
We handle SOBR tiering, and anything older than three months gets sent to Azure. It should maintain encryption, but double-check that. The backup jobs are definitely encrypted.
I heard that Wasabi acts like S3 and supports encryption too. Just make sure to check that setting before you finalize anything.
