How to Fix Jittering Internet Connection Over Ethernet?

I've been experiencing a frustrating issue with my internet lately. I usually play games using a stable Ethernet connection that gives me around 43 ms ping, but now I'm facing serious jittering problems. I've already switched the cable to different ports on the router, which used to help, but nothing seems to be working anymore. I'm looking for any advice on how to resolve this issue and get my connection back to normal.

Have you considered replacing the Ethernet cable? Sometimes they can just go bad or get damaged over time. It’s worth trying a new one to see if that solves the issue.

First, try rebooting your modem and router. Just unplug them for about 30 seconds and then plug them back in. If that doesn't work, you might want to reset the router to its default settings. Also, check if there's any firmware update available for your router that could help fix bugs or improve performance.

How do I reset it to the default settings? I’m only familiar with unplugging.
