Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a frustrating issue after upgrading our on-prem domain from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Some of our devices, especially notebooks and mini PCs that came with Windows 11 pre-installed, are experiencing network problems where the WiFi adapter gets disabled. It seems like I've found a temporary workaround by changing the dependency for the WcmSvc service using the command 'sc config WcmSvc depend= RpcSs/NSI', but I'm still puzzled about why this issue persists. There have been reports of it recurring even after Windows updates. When we perform a company-wide upgrade, I'm contemplating using a GPO to apply a registry edit to handle this, but I really want a more permanent solution rather than asking users to restart their PCs after updates. Does anyone know of any hotfixes or better alternatives? I'm concerned that my old GPO might be causing conflicts since it seems to mainly affect domain-joined devices. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Disabling WPAD is typically safe, provided there’s no proxy in your network setup. Plus, doing so can actually enhance your security. Just keep in mind that the 24H2 update messed with network stack dependencies, which might be adding to your troubles.
Have you checked to see if you're running the latest drivers for your NIC from the manufacturer’s website? Also, make sure you don’t have any GPOs that are disabling any system services, as that could potentially cause issues.
