How to Fix the Flickering Spinning Wheel in Word?

I'm having a frustrating issue with Microsoft Word on a client's PC. The program keeps showing the spinning wheel cursor, and it's really distracting. This only happens in Word; everything else runs fine. I've tried a ton of fixes like updating graphics drivers and Office, repairing installations, and even making registry changes to disable hardware acceleration. I've also gone through settings like the default printer and the navigation pane. Has anyone faced this issue and found a solution? I'd appreciate any help!

Honestly, this might be a good reason to escalate. If nothing you've tried has worked, it could be an underlying issue with the software itself. Have you checked if there's a known bug with your version? That's usually where these kinds of problems pop up.

Just curious, why are you posting this here? It seems like a software issue, not really a sysadmin problem. Are you sure a sysadmin can help with this?

Chill out, man. It's just an MSP trying to help a client out. Some of us are here to collaborate and find solutions.

We've encountered the same issue with one of our clients recently. Can you confirm which version of Word you're using? We typically run the Monthly Enterprise Channel, but the problematic system switched to the Current Channel and is on version 2506. I'm planning to downgrade to version 2505 and see if that resolves the flickering.

If you're using Office 365, try logging out of your Office account and then logging back in. Also, check if Word Online is working fine for you.

Word Online works, but they really need the desktop features. I'll give the logging out a shot, thanks!
