Hey everyone, I've had my PC for about a year now. I bought it from someone I know who built it for themselves. Recently, I noticed some white-ish, crunchy corrosion on my RTX 4060 graphics card, especially on the metal fins and around the fans. I'm guessing it's because I kept my computer too close to my carpet and it wasn't ventilated well. I've improved the ventilation since then, but the corrosion seems to be getting worse. My GPU temperatures are around 70°C max when playing heavy games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I'm not really experienced with cleaning or disassembling components, so I'm looking for advice on what to do next. Am I in trouble?

It’s unusual for a graphics card to corrode like that, especially on a carpet. I've had my computer on carpet for years without issues. You might want to check if your home has high humidity or if you've accidentally spilled something on it. If it really is corrosion, taking a photo would be a good idea; it'll help in diagnosing the problem.
Are you absolutely sure that this isn't just a dust issue? Sometimes things can look worse than they are!
I get that, but it really looks like the crusty corrosion from hard water deposits. Definitely not just dust.
Thanks for the tip! I will take a photo. How do I upload it here? I'm still trying to figure out Reddit.
