How to Handle Floods of Spam Emails?

I'm getting overwhelmed with spam emails every day from a host of different accounts, including several from a private domain and many Gmail accounts. I live in the EU, where GDPR laws are in effect, and I've clearly stated that I don't want to receive marketing communications from any companies or their partners. However, these spam emails are coming from outside the EU, and I'm unsure if GDPR applies to them. Most of the emails look like they were generated by AI and they share the same patterns in their content. There's an unsubscribe option in some, but I'm hesitant to use them. Besides clicking the 'report as spam' button, are there other ways to deal with this type of email flood?

I use a cloud-based spam filter, and it’s great! My firewall only allows email through from our approved system, so even if we get flooded, I never see it because it gets blocked at the gate.

Unless you have a reason to allow emails from public domains, just block them outright. Remember, while GDPR applies to entities operating in the EU, it’s tricky to enforce if they’re not compliant.

You should definitely get a good spam filter, something like Area1 or Barracuda. They can really help manage and block the junk effectively.
