How to Keep a Client Happy When Most Progress is Backend Work?

I've been collaborating with a new client for about three months on a project that's very backend focused. Every time there's a week without visible updates, despite my daily communications, the client gets really anxious because they feel like nothing is happening unless they can see it in the UI. The backend is actually being revamped every week, but how can I help my client feel more secure about our progress? I appreciate the client – they pay on time and are generally good to work with, but I want to ensure they feel satisfied with the process.

Consider creating a changelog! That way, your client can see all the updates happening behind the scenes, even if they're not visually evident in the UI yet. It can be a great way to showcase ongoing work without needing UI changes in each update.

Isn't a kanban board enough? I just thought checking off tasks would keep them updated!
