I'm looking for ways to restrict a domain user account on multiple Windows 11 Pro 24H2 machines. I want to make the interface simpler by removing things like pinned apps, recommended apps, widgets, and search bars. We have the option to use Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and create packages, but we can't use Intune or any third-party applications. Any suggestions on how to achieve this?

It’s hard to offer specific advice without knowing exactly what kind of lockdown you need. If it’s really about limiting access, I recommend checking out Kiosk mode, but just a heads up that it’s not great for general users. Windows 11 can also be tricky with some of the built-in adware. You might have to teach users how to unpin things themselves and push a set Start Menu layout for better control.
Have you thought about using Kiosk mode? It could give you the lockdown you're looking for. It's mainly for specialized setups, but it might fit your needs if you want to restrict user access to just certain apps.
It seems like most of what you're asking about is mainly cosmetic. For example, removing pinned apps from an existing profile might not be doable. As for widgets and the search bar, you can disable those by checking a box in the Group Policy settings. But I’m curious about what you mean by 'limiting access'—if you’re aiming for a clean work environment, that makes sense!
