How to Make One Person’s Contacts Visible in Another’s Address Book in O365?

I'm working with a client who wants to achieve something we're not sure is really possible in Office 365. Person A has a contact list that Person B would like to access and utilize directly in their address book. We've tried using the Public Contact List, but it requires regular updates and isn't syncing like we hoped. Even when the contact list is shared, it doesn't show up in Person B's address book, despite them having full access to Person A's email, contacts, and calendars. Any ideas on how we can get this working?

Yes, this feature is still used in some circles! If you have a Global Address Book in O365 that was populated when you added users, you should be able to utilize that to sync contacts in Outlook. It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's worth checking out!

I think the goal is for the contacts in Person A's list to be directly viewable in Person B's address book, not just in a general contact list. They want those specific contacts to show up as usable addresses.

You could potentially create a distribution group with the external contacts. Once they’re in that group, Person A could add them easily. However, I know it could be tricky getting Person A to actually add the contacts manually, especially if they aren't super engaged with the process. Ideally, the goal was for them to just add contacts and be done, right?

Yeah, asking a VIP to do even that can be tough! It seems like an extra hassle for everyone involved.

I'm not completely sure, but look into CiraApps for a potential solution. A lot of us use it to sync the Global Address List (GAL) with work phones, and it has various features, including options for personal address books, which might help with what you're trying to do!
