How to Optimize Your PC for CPU-Intensive Games?

I'm trying to figure out how to optimize my gaming setup specifically for CPU-heavy games. I've had a tough time because even with high-end CPUs, I'm still seeing performance issues in games like Zomboid and Rimworld. Are there any standout high-performance gaming CPUs for this kind of workload? Or do CPUs generally get less attention compared to GPUs in gaming builds?

The 9850X3D is currently the best gaming CPU available, no doubt about it. It outperforms the 9800X3D by a noticeable margin!

Totally agree! The boost in performance from the 9850X3D is impressive.

You definitely want to look at the X3D chips for games that need more CPU power. Models like the 7800X3D, 9800X3D, and 9850X3D are great options. Just pick one that fits your budget!

It really depends on what you mean by CPU-heavy. For instance, some games are better with multithreading while others focus on single-thread performance. I play a lot of HOI4, which is more single-threaded. My 11700K does great, but my wife's 5800X3D performs better at certain points in her games because of the additional cache, even though they have the same number of cores. It's all about the game and how it utilizes the CPU!

Have you tried looking up FPS benchmarks for your favorite games? Those X3D CPUs can show major differences in performance, but it really depends on the GPU and the resolution you’re playing at. Check out some comparison videos, they can be really helpful!
