How to Properly Uninstall Games from My Computer?

I'm new to using my computer and I've been manually deleting game folders that I no longer want. For games downloaded through Steam, I know to use the uninstall button there. However, I noticed that in my Installed Apps list, games still appear, showing that they're taking up space. For example, when I tried to uninstall a game like Avowed from that list, it said 'Windows cannot find' the game. I realize now that I should be using the uninstall feature instead of just deleting game folders. My main concern is whether these games are still consuming space on my drive, and how I can properly remove them if that's the case. Any advice? Thanks!

It’s important not to just delete files manually. Always use the uninstaller. If you're having trouble with built-in options, consider programs like Revo Uninstaller. They can help remove leftover files after uninstallation, which might solve your problem.

You should definitely use the Control Panel for uninstalling programs. Just go to 'Control Panel', then 'Programs', and find the game you want to remove. Click 'Uninstall' and it should cleanly remove it from your system, including the Installed Apps list.

Honestly, it’s not uncommon for people to delete folders instead of uninstalling. It’s happened to me too. Just know that deleting doesn’t really erase it from the system’s memory, so it still thinks the game is there. But since you deleted the folder, the game itself is gone. It's just lingering in the registry until you properly uninstall it.
