How to Quickly Switch Resolutions in Windows 11 for Different Displays?

I'm trying to help a client who wants to connect their PC to a Samsung TV. The issue is that the client's ultrawide monitor (5120x1440) has a different aspect ratio than the TV, causing Windows to mirror the screen instead of extending it. They're looking for a script, batch file, or any tool that can quickly change the resolution to one that works better with the TV. Does anyone know of any solutions to make this happen?

You should start by connecting both the TV and the monitor, then go to the display settings. Select the TV and make sure to check the option to 'extend desktop to this display.' Set a resolution for the TV and confirm it when prompted. That might help!

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. If the user is casting to the TV instead of using an HDMI cable, Windows might not see it as a second screen. This could restrict resolution changes. Have you tried using a PowerShell script? You might find one that fits your needs, but you'll likely have to piece together different scripts to make it work.

Thanks for the clarification! I should have mentioned that the TV connection is wireless, which is likely causing the resolution issue.
