How to Safely Remove a Swollen Battery from an Old Android Tablet?

I have a decade-old, off-brand kids' tablet, and the entire power button assembly has fallen off. I'm looking for advice on safely disconnecting the swollen battery so I can reuse the tablet by plugging it in instead. Here's what I've tried: plugging it in shows a charging icon, but it eventually goes black and flashes intermittently. When I hold both volume buttons while plugging it in, a boot-up image appears indefinitely until I release the volume buttons. Any tips on safely removing the battery and possibly powering the tablet on afterward would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like the battery is just held in with tape. You can cut one of the wires and cover the end with electrical tape to prevent any accidental touch. Do this one at a time and ensure there's no exposed metal. Once you’ve disconnected it, remove the tape holding the battery, and make sure to recycle it properly afterward!

Honestly, I would recommend just getting a new tablet. After 10 years, even if you get the battery out, this device might not be worth the hassle anymore.
