I'm working from home and connecting to my office PC, which runs Windows 11. I have my main production software on the left screen and would prefer to keep the Taskbar on the right screen for better visibility. In Windows 11, the Taskbar can only be on the primary display, so I need to set my right screen as the primary one. However, when I connect via Remote Desktop using both of my home screens, it appears that I can't change which screen is primary remotely. Is there any way to make my right screen the primary display during this remote session?

It seems like a direct solution for this might not be available right out of the box. One workaround could be to edit the RDP connection file directly. If you open the RDP file in Notepad, you can change some settings. You might not be able to set the primary display remotely, but you could configure it to recognize your desired setup better. There are options for one or multiple screens, and you can experiment with mirroring or specific monitor configurations as a way to find solutions that work for you.
I think it's also worth noting that user licensing can play a role in access scenarios. If you're using a User CAL, it might provide more flexible access across different devices compared to a device CAL setup. However, this might not solve the primary screen issue directly, just something to keep in mind regarding your RDP connections.
You can actually change the primary display once you're in the RDP session! Just right-click on the desktop of your remote session, go to Display Settings, and see if you can adjust the primary screen from there. However, sometimes it may not show the option you need, which is frustrating. If that's the case, you might want to try disabling multiple monitor support temporarily to reposition things to your liking.
