Hey everyone! I'm looking for suggestions on how to set up workstations in a shared environment that can automatically lock after 15 minutes of inactivity but can be quickly unlocked with an ID badge tap or similar system. I'm not interested in creating individual user profiles for each employee; I just want a straightforward lock/unlock process. We currently use Okta, but I'm unsure if it supports this type of setup. Any advice would be appreciated!

You could also check out using a YubiKey with an NFC reader. It’s a fast and secure way to manage access without needing to create multiple accounts.
Have you considered using Imprivata? It seems to do exactly what you need. It’s designed for secure access without the hassle of shared logins, which might work great for your setup.
If you're looking for something simpler, Windows Hello might be your answer. Users can log in using facial recognition or fingerprints after the first setup. Just get a compatible webcam or keyboard, and it should recognize the user instantly without entering any passwords.
Another option is to go for a keyboard with a built-in smartcard reader. These allow for certificate-based logins and usually work seamlessly across different operating systems. You can even use printable smartcards in conjunction with ID badges for convenience.
I’ve heard good things about it! Just keep in mind that it can get pricey.
