How to Switch Between Monitor and TV for Gaming?

I'm looking for some advice on how to set up my gaming PC so I can easily switch between using my monitor and my TV for gaming. I enjoy both competitive and casual games, and I want to use my living room TV for casual sessions instead of my usual gaming monitor. I've already run an HDMI cable through the wall from my PC to the TV, which is about 10 feet away. Currently, I use Windows + P to switch to the secondary screen only. However, I want my PC to simply ignore whichever screen I'm not using. I noticed some stuttering since moving my PC back to the gaming room. Would love some tips on optimizing this setup!

I’ve experienced that kind of stutter issue too. When not using your monitor, try fully turning it off; it might help your PC focus on the TV as the main display, reducing any performance drops you’re seeing.

If you're looking for a less complicated setup, try using Sunshine or Moonlight streaming. They allow you to play on devices around your house without needing to fiddle with cables. But if you want the TV to be your main display, just powering off the monitor might work directly without extra hassle.

Make sure that both your monitor and TV are connected directly to your GPU. If they're connected correctly, sending video to the second screen shouldn't cause any stutters. Also, check your display settings—sometimes adjusting the refresh rate can help.

Both screens are hooked up directly. I’ve got HDMI to the TV (4K at 144Hz) and DisplayPort to the monitor (4K at 240Hz), but I still notice some lag. Any other ideas?
