I'm planning to upgrade my setup by swapping out my Intel hardware for an AMD 7800X3D with a new motherboard. I want to know the best way to keep all my data intact, especially since all my games and important files are stored on a single SSD. Can I just transfer the SSD into the new motherboard, or do I need to take special steps like formatting it?

You'll be okay! Although, doing a fresh install is the safest way to handle such a significant change. It'll help avoid potential hiccups down the line.
I made a similar switch recently. After installing the new hardware, I just went into Windows Update and had it reinstall while keeping my files and settings. It resolved a lot of problems I had, including some Bluetooth issues caused by driver conflicts.

So I can just stick with the same SSD and reset Windows to keep my files?
