I've worked as a business analyst for a while, but I'm looking to switch gears and move into more hands-on roles like system administration or IT support. I have two Azure certifications (AZ-500 and AZ-900) and also Security+. What would be the best way to start this transition? Should I jump into help desk, IT support, Admin, or directly into a Sys Admin role? I would appreciate any advice from those who have gone through a similar change.

Starting in supportive roles like help desk is often the easiest way to transition. You'll master the basics, and then switching to sysadmin roles becomes smoother down the line.
You definitely want to begin in help desk. Certifications are helpful, but they won't prepare you for real-time problem-solving. You need hands-on experience in user interactions and triaging situations.
Sys admin roles involve solving a variety of issues, and understanding the foundational logic from help desk experiences really helps. Working in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) can be tough at first, but you'll learn quickly if you stay focused.
From what I've seen, most sys admins start out in help desk or support roles. It's a common path, though not the only one.
