My sister's brand new MacBook with the M5 chip accidentally got stuck in Lost Mode. We know the password, but the MacBook can't connect to Wi-Fi. I also tried using an Ethernet adapter, but it didn't work. I'm using a setup that goes from Ethernet to USB, then USB to micro USB, and finally micro USB to USB-C, so that might be a problem. If I remove the device from iCloud, will that unlock it after I erase it, or will it still stay in Lost Mode since it can't connect to the internet? I'd really appreciate any help!

You might want to check out Apple’s support documents related to Mac Recovery, as they have some solid information on this. From what I understand, your issue could be tied to your internet connection, which is crucial for unlocking the device. You can find their guidelines here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102518. Also, have you thought about going to a service center? They should be able to help with getting it connected to the internet first.
Yeah, I ran into something similar! I spoke with Apple support and they mentioned that you won't be able to do anything until you get to a service center to connect to the internet. Just keep that in mind while you figure things out!
