I'm trying to upgrade our Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) machines, which are running Windows 11, to the latest version 23H2. However, it seems like the machines aren't recognizing the available update. Has anyone faced this issue before, or can anyone suggest some troubleshooting steps?

Instead of trying to upgrade the existing host pool directly, it's better to update your golden image and then deploy new machines. This way, you ensure all configurations are up to date without disrupting the current setup.

Agreed! I think creating a test host pool after updating the golden image is a great idea. Once you validate everything, you can swap in the new session hosts for production.

Make sure to double-check your update ring settings. The user experience settings are configured there, so even if feature updates are set in another policy, the ring settings matter too. Also, could you clarify whether your AVD machines are connected to a local domain or just using Entra ID?

The settings look good, and the report indicates the update is being offered. Our AVDs are only using Entra ID, no local domain. I've also set the deferral to 0.
