How to Upgrade My SSD Without Losing Games?

I currently have a 1TB SSD just for games, and I'm looking to upgrade because it feels a bit cramped. I have Windows installed on a separate drive. I'm wondering, if I remove my game SSD to replace it, will my games be lost if I don't back anything up? I think the process should be straightforward: take out the old SSD, put in the new one, and then reinstall my games. Am I thinking about this the right way? I'm not too savvy with PC stuff, so any guidance would be appreciated!

Is your setup a desktop or a laptop? If it's a desktop, you might have room for an additional SSD, which lets you keep your current one while adding the new one! If it's just got two drives, a swap might be necessary, but desktops are generally more flexible when it comes to upgrades.

Yes, you can definitely swap out your games SSD without losing anything if you don't back up first. Just keep in mind that all your games will be gone from the original SSD once you remove it. If you want to back up your games first, you could use a USB adapter to clone everything to the new SSD before switching them out. Another option is to create a disk image backup using software like Macrium Reflect, although you might need extra space on your Windows drive for that.
