How’s the IT Job Market Right Now?

As a UK-based IT professional, I can say that the market is currently sluggish, especially for entry-level positions. Companies are looking for generalists, and specialists seem to be facing a lot of challenges. Employers are wary about the industry's future and lean towards candidates who can do a bit of everything. However, I’m still struggling to find positions that value what I’m worth, as many companies just go for the cheapest option.

From my experience in cloud cybersecurity, I still get plenty of offers through LinkedIn, but the number of full-time positions has dropped significantly. There are way more contract roles now, and returning to the office is becoming the norm again, which is disappointing.

The job market overall seems to be slowing down in the U.S. right now. It's not the best time for job hunting, with tariffs starting to really affect various sectors. Just be prepared for a tougher process if you decide to look again.
