Hey everyone! I've recently deployed some new HP Mini computers running Windows 11 to our customers. Everything's been working well, except for a major issue with the network connectivity. The applications on these machines require a constant internet connection to function correctly. While the network works fine when users are logged into Windows, it stops when the screen locks, which activates Modern Standby.
I've already tried adjusting a bunch of settings, like switching the Windows 11 power settings to Performance mode and tweaking the energy settings to HP Mode and Balanced. I've made sure the energy saving mode is set to 'Never', and I've tried to ensure that all advanced options are adjusted to prevent power-saving features. Unfortunately, I can't access the option in Device Manager to allow Windows to disable the network device, as that tab is missing entirely.
I've also looked into the network adapter settings, changing various options like disabling energy-saving features, but nothing seems to work. One observation is that when the screen goes black, the ping to the computer jumps from below 1ms to about 1 or even 2ms, but it drops back to normal as soon as I wake the device. I'm fairly certain this isn't a network hardware issue, as I've tested different setups, and it's only with these HP Minis. Any suggestions on what else I might try?

It sounds like you're on the right track, but did you remember to uncheck the 'allow Windows to disable this device for power management' option in Device Manager? It’s crucial for keeping that connection active. Also, ensure you have the latest network drivers, as sometimes switching between the HP driver and the OEM driver can help with functionality.
Have you checked the Power Management settings in the BIOS? There might be some power states like S4 or S5, or options to maximize idle power management that you may want to disable.
I’ll definitely check the BIOS again, but I think they might have replaced the traditional power management options with Modern Standby features.
I mentioned earlier that this option isn't visible for me, unfortunately. I’ve tried the driver from the HP site and even the Windows Update driver, but I haven’t manually installed the manufacturer's driver.
