I spilled water on my GPU and now my PC won’t boot – Am I done for?

I accidentally spilled some water on my EVGA FTW3 RTX 3070 Ti while it was running, and now my computer refuses to boot with the GPU installed. It was working fine for hours prior to the spill, but after shutting it down, it just won't turn back on with the GPU in place. Are my chances of recovery gone?

If you want to check it out further, here’s a pic of the GPU board: ![GPU Board Image](https://preview.redd.it/kbkc38oq79kf1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=631ac3d6c31fbb164f06c6566dc2b1f0a24db5d4). Seems like you might have some dust clumps there too!

The key thing is to not power it on until it's fully dry. Water and electronics don't mix well at all.

It really depends on how much water got on the GPU. I'd suggest letting it sit for a few days. You might be able to save it by taking it apart and drying it out thoroughly. Just a heads up though, if there’s corrosion, that could cause problems later on even if it works now.
