I'm in the process of building a budget gaming PC and can't quite decide between Intel and AMD. While I've heard that AMD generally performs better, I've come across some nice deals for Intel CPUs. Right now, I'm torn between the Ryzen 5 5600x and the Intel Core Ultra 5 225F, but I'm willing to spend a bit more on Intel. Can anyone help me choose the right option for gaming?

If you can stretch your budget a little, consider upgrading to an AMD Ryzen 7600X or even a 9600X if it's within reach. The new AM5 platform is currently the best for gaming, and surprisingly, the AM5 motherboards are often cheaper than Intel's options. Plus, keep in mind that AM4 is being phased out, so you might run into upgrade issues later on.
Just a heads-up, the Intel Core Ultra series isn’t really geared for gaming. They might handle gaming, but they’re better suited for productivity tasks. If gaming is your priority, the AM5 chips definitely outperform the Intel options you're considering.
Generally speaking, for gaming, AMD is the way to go. Intel tends to excel more in productivity tasks, so if gaming is your main focus, you may want to stick with AMD.
