I'm building two gaming PCs for my kids as Christmas presents, using Ryzen 5 7500f processors, 2 x 16GB DDR5 RAM, and Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics cards. However, I only received one set of 2 x 16GB RAM, while the other two sets I ordered got canceled and are either overpriced or won't ship until mid-2026. My question is, can I use just one 16GB stick in each PC so they have something to enjoy on Christmas? They currently have been gaming on an older setup with integrated graphics, so even with just 16GB, they should notice a significant boost. Am I making a bad decision here?

Yes, you can definitely run each PC with just one stick of 16GB RAM. While performance will vary with different games, they'll still be able to play just fine.
It will be slower with just one stick, but it should work fine. Just make sure when you finally get the new RAM, you put a matched pair into one system instead of mixing up the kits.
Absolutely, 16GB is perfectly fine for now. They’ll notice a huge difference compared to what they were using before!

Thanks! I thought it might be smarter to keep them paired.
