I'm currently using 32GB of DDR4 RAM and I've been considering whether I should upgrade to 16GB of DDR5 since prices are soaring. However, I'm unsure if I should make the switch now or wait for prices to drop. What do you all think about the performance differences? Is 32GB enough for gaming these days?

I've been using 32GB DDR4 since 2020 and I haven't had any issues. The costs for DDR5 are just nuts, so I plan to stick with my system for a while longer.
If you mostly game, then 32GB of DDR4 is definitely enough for you right now. Most games won't even max out 16GB, so you're in a good spot!
Right now, 32GB is sufficient for gaming. Upgrading to DDR5 may not offer a noticeable performance boost, especially since you’d need a new motherboard too.
If you're on DDR4 already, there’s no real reason to switch right now. The performance gain simply isn't worth the investment when you could upgrade your GPU instead for more noticeable improvements.
It really depends on what you’re doing with your PC. If you're running a lot of applications or heavy multitasking, 32GB is great! However, if you don't mind sticking with your current hardware, it might be wise to wait for better pricing on DDR5.
Should I keep my 12th gen Intel i7-12700K then?

Yeah, plus DDR5 is still really pricey! Better to hold onto your current setup for now.
