Hey everyone! I recently upgraded to a 9800X3D and I've noticed that my idle temperatures are around 45°C. I remember my old 2600X used to sit comfortably at 32-36°C when idle. To manage the temperature, I adjusted my CPU fan to 50% speed at 45°C using the MSI Cooling Wizard tool, but it still hovers around 46-48°C with the fan running at 40%. My cooler is the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE, and the BIOS is reporting an idle CPU core voltage of about 1.04V and Vsoc voltage at 1.21V. I also have AMD EXPO enabled at 6000MHz CL30. Is this idle temp normal for my new CPU?

I think it's alright too! Don't sweat it too much. If you really want, you could try cleaning any dust from your cooler or ensure good airflow in your case. Just keep an eye on your temps during heavy loads.
Yeah, 45°C is totally normal for the 9800X3D. As CPUs get more powerful, they're naturally going to run hotter. Your fan adjustments should help as well; just monitor it and you should be fine!
Definitely normal! It's expected with more powerful CPUs. I get it can be a bit worrying since there have been some reports about the 9800X3D, but as long as you're keeping it cool and within that range, you should be good!
