Is 69A CPU Current in HWMonitor Cause for Concern?

Hey everyone! I've been using CPUID HWMonitor to check the stats on my CPU, and I noticed it's showing a current of **69 Amps**. That number seems really high, and I'm not sure if that's typical or if it might signal a problem. My gaming rig has been acting up lately, with random shutdowns, and the CPU trouble light on my motherboard lights up when it happens. Could this high current reading be linked to those shutdowns? I'd appreciate any insights you can provide!

What CPU and motherboard are you using? It’s important to check the voltage too. Sometimes, these readings can be inaccurate. I’d suggest trying HWInfo to see if you get a different result. If your temperatures are normal, it might not be an issue at all!

I have a Ryzen 5 2600X with an MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max motherboard, and the voltage is set at 1.4V.

HWMonitor can sometimes give faulty sensor readings. A reading of 69 amps isn't a problem as long as your voltage is low enough; if it drops below 1 volt, that would only mean 69 watts. So keep that in mind—amps alone don’t tell the full story.

Definitely consider using HWInfo instead for better accuracy. That amperage seems fine, but make sure to check for overheating issues, as that could be causing the shutdowns.
