I recently took a job at a much larger company with 44,000 employees after coming from a smaller one with 8,000. However, I quickly discovered that it wasn't going to offer me any growth opportunities. I find myself feeling really stagnant and bored, especially since I'm making less than people with half my experience. I feel embarrassed about my choice and worry I've wasted my hard-earned experience. I was offered another job today, but I'm concerned that having such a short stint on my resume might look bad in the future. Would it be worth the risk to switch jobs again, and what downsides should I consider?

A brief stint usually won’t hurt your resume. I had a similar experience where I stayed at a job for about 9 months before switching, and it was never an issue when I interviewed again. Just don't make it a habit; if it becomes a pattern, then it might raise eyebrows.
Just avoid hopping jobs back-to-back without anything standout in between. A single short job won't raise any red flags, but consistent short stays might be a concern.
You'll find lots of people leave within just a couple of weeks! Eight months is nothing. Just go for it and see where the new opportunity takes you.
Honestly, if your new job is fine with it, then it shouldn’t matter. A short stay is usually easy to explain unless it becomes a frequent trend. It's like, why are we expected to stay loyal when companies can let go of us in a heartbeat? It’s all about what's best for you.
People change jobs all the time! If you keep it honest, there's nothing to worry about when they ask about your short time at your position. Just tell them the truth about how it wasn’t what you expected.
But should I really say I was duped into taking a job beneath my capabilities?
If you frame it well, like mentioning it was a project-based position with no extension, then people won’t think twice about it unless they see a pattern of too many short stints. It's all about context!
It seems like job hopping is actually looked at positively in some places, as if it shows ambition!
