Is 95°C Too Hot for My Ryzen 5 5600?

I recently upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 5 5600 and applied the thermal paste correctly. However, I'm noticing that under stress, the temperatures reach as high as 95°C, which makes my games lag. I'm using the stock cooler, and I've heard it should handle this CPU without issues, but I'm starting to doubt that. Any advice?

Yes, 95°C is definitely on the high side. It shouldn't be hitting that unless your room temp is really high or your case has awful airflow. Double-check that the cooler is mounted correctly, and a pro tip: don't forget to remove the plastic peel from the cooler if there was one!

I definitely removed the peel and mounted it twice already, still having issues. A friend mentioned it might be the stock cooler's limitations.

It sounds like you might need a better cooler. The stock cooler can work, but it's not the best at keeping temps down, especially at high loads. If you can, look into getting a more efficient aftermarket cooler.

You might want to invest in a cooler like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin. It can be found for around $30 and would do a great job keeping temps around 60-70°C under load, even though the 5600 typically doesn't run hot. Just a thought!

That sounds great, but it's priced at $120 here! That's a bit out of my budget.
