Is a 1000VA UPS Enough for My Gaming PC?

I recently got a 1000VA/550W UPS and now I'm having second thoughts about whether it's sufficient for my gaming setup. My PC has a 750W PSU with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RTX 5070 Ti. Will this UPS work for me, or should I look into returning it for a more powerful one?

I actually tested mine while playing Cyberpunk, and at the lowest settings, I got around 3 minutes of backup time. It’s enough for a quick shutdown, so I’m pretty happy with my UPS!

Honestly, your setup should be just fine with that UPS! While it won't keep your computer running for long during an outage, you should have enough time (around 5 minutes) to save your work and shut down properly. Plus, it provides surge protection too, which is a nice bonus!

You might want to consider getting a 1500VA/900W UPS instead. If you're someone who likes to push things to the limit, having extra capacity is always a good idea. However, most users don't actually max out their PSU's output all the time, so you could definitely still use your 1000VA UPS if you're mindful and keep your load under 600W.

Yeah, a 1000VA UPS is perfectly fine for what you're looking to do. It's great for giving you that little bit of time to save your game or shut down your PC when the power goes out.
