I'm debating whether to invest in a 120Hz TV mainly for watching movies. Since most films are shot at 24 frames per second (fps), is it really worth it to get a TV that supports 120Hz? I totally get that it's great for gaming, but I want to know if it makes a difference for movies and shows.

A 120Hz TV is more beneficial for sports and gaming than movies, which mostly stick to lower frame rates. If you mainly watch films, a solid 60Hz should be perfectly fine for your needs.
If you’re not gaming, don’t get too hung up on refresh rates. Focus instead on getting a good quality IPS or OLED panel for better colors and contrast. That's what really enhances the viewing experience.
Not really, since most movies are recorded at 24fps, having a 120Hz TV won't really enhance your movie-watching experience. High refresh rates make a difference for gaming and sports, but for films, you're probably fine with 60Hz.
True, but did you know some films like 'Gemini Man' were actually shot at 120fps? They're still rare, and even then, most viewers will only see them at standard refresh rates.
I had a 65" TV that played movies super smoothly; it felt like 144Hz! I know it's a bit anecdotal, but there are definitely factors that make a 120Hz TV appealing, especially with upscaling tech.
That's cool, but I’ve heard some people don’t like how 120Hz affects the cinematic feel of movies. How do you feel about that?
Honestly, I’d say no if your main focus is just movies. If you foresee playing games on it in the future, it might be worth it as an investment. But for movies, you're not going to gain much over a 60Hz TV.
I agree! I want to make sure I’m putting my money where it counts, not just on high refresh rates.
