Is a 1440p Monitor a Good Upgrade for My Setup?

I'm considering upgrading from my current 1080p monitor to a 1440p monitor. I have a system built around an Intel i5 9600X CPU and an AMD 9060XT GPU with 16GB of RAM. I typically play single-player games and enjoy visual aesthetics, with titles like Doom Eternal, Horizon Remastered, God of War (2018), Baldur's Gate, FF7 Remake, and Expedition 33 on my radar. I've seen some benchmarks that suggest the GPU can handle 1440p, but I've also come across people expressing concerns about whether it's a good fit for that resolution. So, is it worth making the jump to a 1440p monitor?

I've been running 1440p on one monitor and 1080p on another. It’s not as huge of a jump as some people make it out to be—maybe just a 10 fps difference. Sometimes it’s less demanding on the CPU too, so don't stress too much about the performance. If you're cool with a slight fps dip, upgrading sounds like a no-brainer!

I have the same setup as you, and it works great for 1440p! You'll be really pleased with the quality. Just a heads up, make sure to consider the refresh rate—165Hz is nice for smoother gameplay, but you might find 144Hz is just fine for those single-player experiences.

Your GPU is definitely capable of handling 1440p, especially for the types of games you play! If you're not into competitive gaming, you should see a solid performance boost and enjoy those pretty visuals you're after. Go for it!
