I've got an Intel i9 14th Gen processor that's been sitting around for the past six months, and I'm finally planning to install it. I'm using a 240mm AIO liquid cooler, but I'm not sure if that's enough to keep the CPU cool during use. I mainly play games like Valorant, Minecraft, and Red Dead Redemption 2. For context, I have a RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and a decent case with three fans. Just to clarify, I got the i9 for free from a family member, which is why I'm pairing it with a 3070 Ti and a 240mm cooler.

Generally, a 240mm cooler isn't going to be sufficient for an i9. It's great that you got the CPU for free, but if you're looking to get decent performance, you may want to consider undervolting and power limiting it. You'll still be able to run it, but don’t expect to utilize its full potential with that cooler. If you can, think about selling the i9 for a lesser CPU and using the funds toward a better GPU instead, but I get not wanting to disappoint your relative.
