I'm putting together my first PC build and I'm curious if a 5060 Ti with 16GB is too much for just 1080p gaming. I want to make sure this setup lasts me a long time, which is why I'm aiming higher with the specs. But do you think there's a cheaper graphics card that could still meet my needs? I'm using an MSI PRO Z790-A MAX motherboard, and I checked pcpartspicker to confirm compatibility. Any advice?

I heard from someone that the 5060 Ti might struggle with 1440p, which makes it perfect for 1080p. Honestly, I think it’ll hold up well for the coming years, easily hitting 60 fps in most games without pushing it too hard.
Going for the 5060 Ti is a smart move, especially considering it can handle more than just 1080p gaming. You're setting yourself up for a better experience down the line, especially for future games.
Seems totally reasonable to go with the 5060 Ti! It's not overkill if you plan on keeping the GPU for a while. Over time, what seems like overkill now will become standard.
You're on the right track! For 1080p, the 5060 Ti is a solid choice. It tends to maintain good frame rates without needing extra features. If you decide to go for a higher resolution down the line, you might still be happy with how it performs.
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking too! I'm not in a position to upgrade constantly, so I’m looking to future-proof this setup for at least five years or even longer if I maintain it well.
