Is a 550W Power Supply Enough for Ryzen 5600 and RX 5700 XT?

I came across a brand new Seasonic 550W Gold PSU for just $35 on Facebook Marketplace. I'm planning to build a second rig with a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT (which is pretty large) and a Ryzen 5600. According to the estimates on PcPartPicker, my setup will use around 434 watts, but the GPU recommends a 650W power supply. Is the 550W PSU sufficient for my build?

If the GPU recommends 650W, I would either go for that or a higher wattage to be safe. You could also consider reducing the GPU's performance if you decide to stick with the 550W, but that’s not ideal.

Going with a 550W PSU seems a bit risky, especially since the GPU recommends at least 650W. I wouldn't risk it personally. Plus, for $35, you can probably find a better deal on a higher wattage PSU.

It's brand new from Seasonic though, which is a solid brand. But still, I'd feel safer with a little extra headroom.

Honestly, I wouldn’t go for a used PSU. It's a critical component, and if it fails, it could damage your whole system. Minimum recommended wattage for that GPU is 600W, so I would get at least a 650W PSU. You might find something for a similar price on sites like Amazon or Newegg. Spending a little more is better than risking it.
