I'm curious if pairing a 9700X with a 5070 will handle 1440p gaming on high settings for the next 3 to 5 years. I'm on a budget, so I'm okay with just getting 3 years out of it. I'm also planning on overclocking the 9700X using online guides.

Running 1440p native for 5 years might be pushing it. If you stick with DLSS, you should be alright, but the 12GB of VRAM could start to hold you back, especially with ray tracing. If you can, consider waiting for the 9070XT or a possible 5070 Super with 18GB of VRAM.
If I only get 3 years, that's fine with me. By then, I should be able to upgrade anyway. What if I save a bit more for a Ti version?
