I'm looking to upgrade my high-end GPU but the prices for new ones are outrageous right now. I found a refurbished 4080 Founders Edition at Microcenter for $989 and I'm considering it. Has anyone had experience with Microcenter's refurbished Founders Edition cards? Given the current GPU market, do you think this is a smarter choice than spending over $1500 on high-end 5080 models? I also prefer a card with a solid cooler.

What resolution are you gaming at? If you're on 1440p, the 4080 should handle things great. I upgraded from a 5900X to a 13900K and it helps a lot! But yeah, I'd stick to a budget between $1000 and $1300 as you said. The price for that refurb is solid.
It really depends on your setup! If you're budget-focused and can snag that 4080 for $989, it sounds like a decent deal. The performance is pretty similar to the 5080, especially if you're willing to overclock and undervolt. Just keep in mind that the 4080 is still a powerful card and should serve you well for gaming.
Definitely! I'm using a 4080 at 4K and it runs smoothly. As long as you don't need the absolute latest tech, the refurbished option seems smart.
I’m on 3440x1440, so I need something that can handle that too!
