Is a Ryzen 5 5600X Going to Hold Back an RTX 5070 at 1080p?

Hey everyone! I'm currently gaming on a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with a 3060 Ti at 1080p, but I'm only achieving around 90-100 fps in games like Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders. I'm considering upgrading to an RTX 5070 to boost my fps above 144. However, I'm concerned about whether my CPU will bottleneck the new GPU. Should I also think about upgrading my CPU, or would just switching to the 5070 be enough? Keep in mind, replacing the CPU would require a new motherboard since I'm using AM4, and I'm trying to keep my upgrades budget-friendly for now, as I'm planning a full build in a couple of years.

If you’re running at 1080p, the 5070 should hit 144 fps in most games. I have a 4070 with a Ryzen 7, and I'm able to sustain around 100 fps on a 3440x1440 setup. But, yeah, with Battlefield 6, your 5600X might not reach 144 fps.

Just a heads up, Battlefield 6 can be quite CPU intensive. The 5600X might be maxing out at what it can handle already.

It's possible your 5600X could limit performance a bit, especially if you're not using ray tracing. I’d suggest trying the 5070 first and see how your current setup handles it before investing in a new CPU.
