I've been getting warnings on my laptop about a "non HP battery detected" along with notes that it could pose health and safety risks. Plus, the right side of my laptop feels a bit hotter than usual. Should I be worried about this?

Yes, you should definitely be concerned. A swollen battery can pose a fire hazard. Is your battery an original HP part? If it's not, that could be part of the problem.

You really need to replace it. A swollen battery can cause issues while typing or even make the laptop unstable due to overheating. If you're looking to take it apart, you can try using an old credit card to pop the case open, but make sure not to use any metal tools as they could scratch the plastic.

Removing the battery could help, especially if you can do it without too much hassle. What’s your laptop model? A swollen battery can worsen over time and release toxic gases if it ruptures, which is pretty scary. If you do manage to take it out, be sure to dispose of it safely and look for a replacement.

It's an HP 15s-eq1xxx. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to remove the rubber feet to get to the screws.
