I'm a software engineer with 10 years of experience, and I'm looking to shift into AI infrastructure. I've already obtained my AWS SAA and LFCS certifications. There's currently a Sysadmin position available at an architectural firm. Do you think this role would be a good fit for my transition?

Definitely consider it! I recently attended an event where they discussed how roles are evolving with AI. Being versatile and understanding multiple aspects of tech is becoming increasingly valuable. If the position allows you to gain experience with AI infrastructure, it could be worthwhile.

It really depends on what you want in your career. The Sysadmin role could be a stepping stone, especially if you can learn about AI infrastructure in the process. Just be aware that some people argue AI might result in fewer specialized roles in the future, so keep that in mind.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it if you're worried about job security. AI might change things up, and some say certain positions won't be around in a few years. It could be risky. Maybe explore more specialized roles in AI itself?
