Is Adding More RAM to My Ryzen 7 9800X3D PC Likely to Be Stable?

I've recently set up my PC with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz CL30. It's been running smoothly with full EXPO settings. Now, I want to expand my memory to 64GB by adding another identical 2x16GB RAM kit. However, I've heard that using four sticks with this processor can create stability issues, often requiring a downclock to 5600MHz or even lower. Has anyone successfully used this setup with the same RAM and motherboard? I'm looking for advice on whether I can maintain the 6000MHz speed or if I should consider switching to a 2x32GB kit instead to ensure stability. Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I've tried this with a Ryzen 9 9500X3D, using four sticks of the same model. My system booted without a hitch at 6000MHz but it was a gamble—sometimes you get lucky, other times not. If you're set on adding more RAM, just make sure it's the same model to improve your chances of stability. In my case, Memtest showed no errors after a few tweaks.

From what I've seen, AMD tends to have issues with four sticks of RAM. It might be a better idea to go for a 2x32GB kit instead of sticking with four 16GB sticks, especially if you want to avoid headaches down the road.

Honestly, if you really want that 64GB with EXPO, the safest route is to get a 2x32GB kit. Running four sticks, you might find yourself stuck at speeds like 5600 or lower, which definitely isn't ideal.

I went through a similar upgrade recently and hit 64GB with four sticks. It ran perfectly fine at 6000MHz. Just ensure all sticks are from the same manufacturer and model if you go this route. But yeah, keep in mind that depending on the motherboard and CPU, the results can vary.

I totally get why you'd want to upgrade for AI projects, but four sticks won't perform as well as two. If you're looking strictly for performance and stability, I’d consider selling your existing RAM for a 2x32GB option. It creates a smoother experience, especially for heavy multitasking.
