Hey everyone! I just got my hands on a 9070XT (XFX Mercury) and I'm thinking about building a new PC. Usually, I go for a power supply with a lot more wattage than I actually need—like I have a 1000W PSU running a 3080. This time, however, I bought an 850W Corsair RMX. According to PCPartPicker, my estimated wattage is around 602W. Am I good to go with the 850W or should I return it for a 1000W PSU? Just to mention, the only thing I've adjusted is the fan curve, and I'm not planning to overclock anything. Any advice would be appreciated!

Honestly, you’re in a good spot with that 850W PSU. Even a high-quality 650W can handle a setup like yours, including peripherals, and typically runs around 560W in actual usage. I'd suggest investing in a solid 650W or 750W unit instead of going for a 1000W if you don’t plan on overclocking. Plus, a 750W PSU is more than enough for what you've got right now and might even be future-proof! Could you share your PCPartPicker link to check how it arrived at 602W?
You definitely want some extra wattage on hand, though, since peak usage can spike. For example, my 7900XTX can pull around 320W at max load but peaks into the 500W range. Lower wattage PSUs might trip under such spikes. Also, keep in mind that efficiency can drop, leading to higher overall power usage.
