Is an 850W PSU enough for the 7900 XTX?

I'm based in Korea, and the 7900 XTX is currently cheaper than both the 5070 and 9070 XT. I'm definitely interested in getting it for 1440p gaming, but I'm a bit worried about whether my power supply will handle it. I have a Leadex VII 850W PSU from Super Flower, but the recommended PSU for this GPU on various sites is 1000W. For reference, I have the Asrock Phantom Gaming 24GB OC version. My current specs include a 7500F CPU, AG400, B650M PG Riptide motherboard, 32GB of 6000 CL36 G Skill Trident RAM, and a 2TB SN580 SSD. According to PCPartPicker, my entire system is estimated to use about 582 Watts. Do you think I should just go for it?

Your 850W PSU is a solid choice, especially since the 7500F is quite power-efficient. If you're running something hefty on the CPU, then a 1000W PSU could make sense, but you're good for now. Just keep in mind that the 7900 XTX doesn't have FSR 4 support and may not perform as well in ray tracing compared to the 9070 XT.

Absolutely, an 850W PSU should be sufficient for your setup! However, while the 7900 XTX is a great card for rasterization, it falls behind the 9070 XT in ray tracing performance and upscaling capabilities. If you're aiming primarily for high-quality 1440p gaming and don't care as much about ray tracing or the latest features, you might be fine. Just make sure you're getting a good deal on the 7900 XTX compared to the 9070 XT—like, a significant discount, not just $30.

I'm actually using the same card and I went for a 1000W PSU just to be on the safe side. Some might say it's overkill, but I like knowing I have plenty of headroom!

You might want to think about upgrading your CPU to get the most out of your graphics card. It could make a big difference in performance in games!
