Why is my used 3080 Ti underperforming after upgrading from a 3060 Ti?

I recently picked up a used 3080 Ti as an upgrade from my old 3060 Ti, thinking I'd see a nice boost in performance. However, I'm actually getting worse frame rates than before! My temperatures seem fine, and I'm using an i5-12600k while gaming on a 1440p monitor. For example, I used to run Rainbow at around 130 fps with high settings, but now I can't even hit 120 fps on balanced settings. In the BF6 beta, my fps maxes out at just 80. Can anyone help me figure out what might be going wrong or if there's some compatibility issue with my setup?

Definitely start by reinstalling your GPU drivers. After that, monitor the clock speeds while gaming too. You shouldn't see a drop in performance with a 3080 Ti unless something's definitely off.

Your PSU should be adequate at 1000 watts, but have you checked the RAM? Faulty RAM or settings might also affect performance. It might be worth troubleshooting both if the GPU checks out.

First off, check the temperature and power draw of your GPU while gaming. It's important to see if it's thermal throttling or not. Also, consider running DDU to uninstall your current drivers and start fresh - that can often help resolve performance issues.

To roll back drivers, download the drivers you want from NVIDIA's site first. Then, use DDU in safe mode to uninstall your current drivers. After that, install the new ones directly from your downloads.

Make sure your GPU clock speeds are where they should be. If they're too low, you might be experiencing throttling. It's a good idea to repaste your GPU if it hasn't been done in a while; many 30 series cards could use a refresh.
