I'm considering getting an external GPU for my laptop since I don't have enough money for a gaming PC right now. My laptop has a solid setup with 32 GB of RAM, an Intel i7 155H, and decent storage, but it struggles with graphics and can't really handle 3D games. Should I invest in the external GPU now and possibly use it for a PC in the future, or would it be better to save my money for a good PC outright?

We tried using an external GPU setup and ended up sending both the GPU and the enclosure back. They really throttle performance—getting only about half of what you'd expect. If you can, just build your PC piece by piece instead.
I'd recommend skipping the external GPU and just getting a used console to tide you over. I bought one before and ended up returning the external GPU; it was such a letdown, nearly a waste of money!
Just a quick check: can your laptop actually support an external GPU? You’ll need a Thunderbolt or Oculink connector for it to work properly.
Honestly, I wouldn't bother with an external GPU. They just don’t offer good value for your money. Saving up for a proper gaming PC is the way to go once you can afford it.
If you're leaning toward a PC build, why not buy the parts gradually and assemble them all at once? It's a solid strategy if you're on a budget.
