Is an i5 12600KF and RTX 4060 good enough for Fortnite at 1080p?

I'm looking at pairing an Intel i5 12600KF with an RTX 4060 for playing Fortnite at competitive settings and 1080p resolution. I've heard mixed reviews about this combo being a less-than-ideal choice. Given my budget constraints, I'm wondering if these two will work well together or if I'm likely to encounter performance issues. Would upgrading to a better Intel CPU make a significant difference?

This combo is decent, but if you're open to options, I’d recommend looking at AMD GPUs like the 7700XT or maybe a used 6700XT. The 4060 might not be the best value for the money, and 8GB of VRAM could be limiting. If possible, a 7800XR would be a great upgrade!

On the flip side, 8GB should be enough for 1080p gaming with Fortnite.

Yeah, I agree! A 4060 with 8GB is good enough for 1080p gaming in Fortnite.

This setup is actually a solid mid-range option. The i5 12600KF is still a great choice for gaming, and with the 4060, you should be easily hitting 200+ fps on competitive settings in Fortnite. It's definitely worth considering if you're budget-conscious!

You’ll definitely be fine for Fortnite at 1080p with this combination! You should go for it!

The 12600KF is really good for competitive shooters, but if you can, consider upgrading the GPU. I have mine paired with a 7800XT and sometimes encounter bottlenecks at high settings on 3440x1440. 1080p might be better, though!

Sounds great, could maybe look into buying a better GPU. Thanks!

The 12600 is powerful and works great with a 40 series GPU. I'm using a 3060 with mine at 1440p and getting 100fps in Squad, which is quite demanding. You should see even better performance in Fortnite at 1080p!

A lot of people play Fortnite with even lower specs, so you shouldn't face any major issues. Just make sure you have at least 16GB of RAM for smooth gameplay!
