Is an Internal Sound Card a Good Solution for My Broken Audio Jacks?

Hi everyone! I've been having trouble with my audio jacks for a while, but things got worse when my cat pulled on the cables behind my PC, breaking both my front audio jacks. Now I'm looking for a way to connect my mic and audio cables again. I'm considering buying an internal sound card since they seem cheaper than external ones. What do you think? Is this a good idea?

You might want to check out a USB to 3.5mm jack adapter. They're really affordable and can save you the hassle of installing a sound card.

Yeah, you can find basic USB sound cards for around £5-10. They’re about the size of a memory stick and can easily get the job done.

Before you rush into buying a new sound card, make sure to check if your actual audio cables are still working okay. If it’s just the front ports that are broken, it might be simpler to replace those instead. Just remember to have a PCIe slot available and adjust the settings in Windows to make the new device the default.

Wait, how exactly did your cat manage to damage those wires? Are you letting your cat mess around inside your PC? That's wild!
